About Us

The California Physical Therapy Association is a Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, which represents more than 93,000 physical therapists and physical therapist assistants nationwide. As the third largest Physical Therapy association in the world, the California Physical Therapy Association is the only voice for the physical therapy profession in the state of California.

  • CPTA maintains a strong representation in legislative and regulatory affairs and reimbursement at the state level to ensure the interests of members and the public are represented.
  • CPTA provides an expert in reimbursement who is available to answer questions and provide timely updates on reimbursement changes and trends.
  • CPTA's print publications, website (www.ccapta.org) and California PT Notes keep members apprised of the latest news and information related to their profession.
  • CPTA offers numerous opportunities for PTs to voice their opinions about the future of their profession, to expand their professional network, and to enhance their expertise. With opportunities like Town Hall Meetings, District Meetings and Special Events, Continuing Education Courses and Annual Conferences, CPTA provides opportunities for physical therapy professionals to keep in contact with people who share their interests and ideals – people who care deeply about the future of their profession.
