Three dedicated CPTA members came together with one goal: to raise money and awareness for the CAL-PT-FUND. Their idea: to bike almost 500 miles across the state of California. And so the “Ride for Research” was born!
October 29-November 1, 2015, Mitchell Kauk, Chris Powers, and Paul Smith each biked approximately 160 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Mitch started in San Francisco at UCSF's Mission Bay Campus on October 29 with a sendoff party hosted by FUND president Nancy Byl and made a pit stop overnight in Santa Cruz. He picked up again Friday morning and biked the rest of the way to Lucia, where he met Paul at the Lucia Lodge. Paul started out Halloween morning from Lucia and traveled all the way to Buellton, where he passed the torch to Chris at Pea Soup Andersen's. Chris pushed off bright and early Sunday morning and finished at the Santa Monica Pier.
This year's event was held in memory of Rochelle Howard for her dedication and support of the CAL-PT-FUND.
