The Candidates for the Nomination Committee positions were asked to answer the following two questions when giving their personal statements:
- What strategies would you use to motivate potential candidates to run for office?
- What are two to three characteristics you would look for in a potential candidate for office?
I am honored for the opportunity to run for Nominating Committee. CPTA, being the 3rd largest PT association in the world, has tremendous impact on the PT profession. I aspire to be a part of this steering process, by assuming the role of a talent scout on the Nominating Committee. To put together a stellar nominating slate, I would engage the following ABC’s:
Ask…what motivates potential candidates to run (or not). Ask prior leader to share what has been the greatest rewards about their experience. Most of all, ask talented individuals to run, as they not have even thought about it in the first place!
Bridge…gaps by scouting for talented individuals that bridge generational, professional and relational gaps within our organization.
Capitalize, Cultivate & Catapult: Capitalize on the benefits of serving in such a tremendous organization! Cultivate long-term relationships with potential candidates, as individuals may not feel ready to run one year, but may feel ready 6 years from now. Catapult our organization by scouting for individuals whose diverse talents & attributes can maximize the longevity and creativity of our association.
I would greatly appreciate your support in allowing me to actively scout & cultivate talented leaders to further catapult our association!
