This Town Hall Meeting, hosted by the San Jose District, is being held to get your input on issues of vital importance to your profession. Rick Katz, PT, DPT, MA will discuss payment issues and updates such as changes in Medicare and what is happening nationally. Chris Reed, PT, MPT, ATC, OCS will cover important bills in the legislature that might have an impact on physical therapy. Bring your questions about any physical therapy topic. We encourage all physical therapy professionals to attend. Approved for .15 CEUs.

Chris Reed, PT, MPT, ATC, OCS is an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with Agile Physical Therapy in Palo Alto, CA. He graduated with a BS in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Oregon State University in 1998 and received his Masters of Physical Therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s College in 2000. Chris has been an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist since 2006. He has served in leadership roles with multiple organizations, including CPTA, throughout his career. Currently Chris is the Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, and a Trustee of the CAL-PT-PAC.

Richard S. Katz, PT, DPT, MA received a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and obtained his Physical Therapy certification from a combined program at CSUN and UCLA. He went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from CSUN and his DPT from E.I.M. Institute in 2013. Rick worked as a physical therapist in both hospital and outpatient settings where he developed programs for Cardiac, Pulmonary and Stroke patients along with a Sports Injury Clinic and a Coaches Clinic. In addition he has held numerous elected and appointed positions at the national, state and local levels of the American Physical Therapy Association. He currently serves as Director of the CPTA Board, he is the Chairperson for CPTA’s Payment Policy Committee, member of the Finance Committee and Chairs the APTA Private Practice Section’s Vertical Integration Task Force. He is the recipient of the CPTA’s James McKillip Leadership Award, Clarence Hultgren Service Award and the Charles Magistro Service Award.

Rick recently merged his west coast business, Adient Physical Therapy, with ATI Physical Therapy where he works as a Vice President of Operations and Payer Contracting for the western region. Rick continues to perform direct patient care along with his management responsibilities.
