Town Hall Description

This Town Hall Meeting, hosted by the Golden Gate District, is being held to get your input on issues of vital importance to your profession. Topics will include Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) compliance and Medicare updates. Join us for this interactive meeting. Bring your questions about any physical therapy topic. We encourage all physical therapy professionals to attend. This meeting is pending CEU approval.
A separate beer tasting with donations going to the CAL-PT-FUND will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Town Hall meeting food and drinks will be provided from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Course Objectives

Explain the PQRS compliance requirements
Describe Medicare updates/changes for 2015
Discuss CPTA's new public relations campaign and explain how you can market your practice using the key message

Dennis Langton, PT received his B.S. degree in Health Education and Physical Therapy in 1973 from the University of Utah. His post graduate studies include a wide variety of advanced clinical courses in the areas of Manual Therapy, Sports Medicine, Neurology, Craniomandibular Disorders, and Work Rehabilitation and he is a Certified Cranial Vertebral and TMJ Specialist by the American Academy of Oral-Facial Pain. Mr. Langton has presented over 30 post graduate research papers and taught over 100 post-graduate professional courses, both nationally and internationally, in the areas of orthopedics, manual therapy, orthotics and prevention education. He is presently a consultant in head, neck, and facial pain to the Clinical Research Foundation, a Associate Clinical Instructor at the University of St. Augustine, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Mr. Langton is co-author of a functional anatomy text on the head, neck and temporomandibular joint and contributing author on two textbooks on evaluation and treatment of CMD. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic, and Health Policy and Administration sections. He currently serves on the Chapter Board of the California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA) and is Finance Officer and liaison to the CPTA Payment Policy Committee.

Cheryl Tibbetts, PT, OCS graduated from the University of Southern California with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy and Biokinesiology in 1993. She became an orthopedic clinical specialist in 2002. She is currently in her second term as a Director for the California Physical Therapy Association where she serves as chair of the Membership and Communications committee. She has owned and operated her private practice in Santa Cruz County for more than 20 years as well as working for the local hospital. She continues to spend the majority of her time in patient care.
