Plan for 2020 House of Delegates
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Board of Directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to transition the in-person House of Delegates to a virtual format and cancel the NEXT Conference & Exposition in Phoenix and replace it
with a separate virtual event.
The previously scheduled face to face meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. will now be held as a virtual meeting due to COVID-19.
Call for Chapter Delegate Candidates for 2021 House of Delegates
With the Fall Assembly of Representatives scheduled for October 2, 2020, the Chapter Nominating Committee is issuing a call for candidates for Chapter Delegates/Alternates to the 2021 and 2022 APTA House of Delegates (HOD). Members wishing
to be a candidate for Chapter Delegate are expected to make a commitment of two years and attend each of the House meetings, as well as the delegation meeting held in advance of each House.

California Representatives at the House of Delegates
The House of Delegates (House) is an APTA policy-making body comprised of voting chapter delegates, non-voting delegates (the Board of Directors and section, assembly, and PTA Caucus delegates), and consultants. The number of voting chapter delegates is determined each year based on membership numbers as of June 30.
About the House:
Any APTA member with a current membership card or with a pass obtained onsite from a student House usher may attend the House by sitting in its gallery (an area behind the ropes of the House proper).
