PT Legislative Day

March 10, 2020

Free to APTA Members

2 Contact Hours Awarded (0.2 CEU’s)

Participants will learn about bills in the legislature that have a direct impact on your profession. You will receive outstanding advice on advocacy from our seasoned lobbyist and government affairs committee. You will meet with legislators and their staff members who represent your home cities.

And most of all, you will experience first-hand what a strong grassroots advocacy program can do.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify how a bill becomes law, Design a comprehensive legislative strategy for the advancement of the physical therapy profession, Schedule meetings with legislators and their staff members who represent your home cities.

What Attendees Have to Say

"The involvement of physical therapists at the grassroots level will remain a vital part of our successes, and frankly, our losses. Many physical therapists have developed close ties to their elected Assembly Members and Senators, but we need more.
CPTA staff, specifically Tameka Island, and our firm stand ready to assist you in that endeavor. If you would like our help in prioritizing your local outreach efforts, setting meetings, finding speakers, or looking for creative ways that PTs can participate, let us know!"
